How to Play CyberTankz

Welcome to the battlefield. This guide walks you through your first steps, from installing the game to winning your first match and earning your first crystals. Whether you are a returning veteran or a brand new player, following these steps will get you into the action quickly.

1. Download and Install

CyberTankz runs as a Windows client. Visit the Download page, pick the installer, run it and create your account. The client is lightweight and most modern PCs run it smoothly. If you have a dedicated GPU, use the standard installer. For maximum performance on 64-bit systems you can also try the Max Performance build.

2. Choose Your First Tank

Every tank is made of two parts: a hull (the body) and a turret (the weapon). New players should pick forgiving combinations that still teach core mechanics.

ComboPlaystyleWhy start with it?
Hunter + FirebirdFast skirmisherGood speed, decent armour, close-range damage teaches positioning.
Viking + ThunderMid-range brawlerBalanced health and splash damage; forgiving aim.
Hornet + RailgunHit-and-run sniperFast hull paired with a hard-hitting turret for learning map control.

Once you are comfortable, experiment with every hull and turret. The best players switch builds depending on the map and mode.

3. Learn the Controls

  • W, A, S, D — Drive forward, left, backward, right.
  • Mouse — Aim. Left click fires your turret.
  • 1-5 — Activate supplies (First Aid, Double Armour, Double Power, Speed Boost, Mine).
  • Q — Drop the flag in Capture the Flag.
  • Space — Jump / parkour actions on compatible maps.

Spend five minutes in a parkour map to get used to driving. Smooth movement is often more important than raw aim in CyberTankz.

4. Play the Objective

Each mode rewards different behaviour. Winning consistently is the fastest way to earn crystals and experience.

  • Deathmatch: Focus on kills and staying alive. Pick your fights and retreat when low on health.
  • Team Deathmatch: Stick with teammates. Focus fire on one target at a time.
  • Capture the Flag: Protect your flag carrier and intercept the enemy carrier. Kills matter less than captures.
  • Control Points: Hold the zones. Use area-denial turrets like Thunder or Freeze to lock points down.
  • Juggernaut: If you become the Juggernaut, use your boosted stats to pressure the enemy team. Otherwise, focus fire together.

5. Upgrade in the Garage

After each battle you earn crystals. Spend them in the Garage to upgrade your hull and turret through M-levels (M0 to M3). Between M-levels you can apply micro-upgrades for smaller, cheaper improvements.

Protection modules, paints and alterations add extra layers of customisation. Read the Protection Modules guide to understand how to survive longer against specific turrets.

6. Earn Crystals Faster

Crystals are the main currency. Here is how to earn them efficiently.

  • Daily missions — Complete the three rotating tasks every day for crystals, containers and supplies.
  • Gold Boxes — These drop randomly in battle. Capture them for a big crystal boost.
  • Objective play — Winning matches and playing the objective gives far more rewards than farming kills.
  • Ranking up — Every new rank grants a crystal reward.
